Moshe, a rule I have learned about helping people is that you help them out of your abundance and you have to know when to cut the help off. Some people no matter how much you help them will always need more and will drag you down with them if you don't know when to call it quits.

Good story Whiskey Sam. Sometimes people that are down and out are surprised when you treat them like a fellow human being. The church I am a member of feeds the homeless every Friday evening. They make a point of feeding them good food that we would enjoy eating. They use proper silverware and show them respect. Sometimes it hard to know why someone winds up like that so it is best not judge them.

It's not that I don't care where you are or what happened to you...

I don't look in here every day and I don't read every post so people can be gone a long time before I ever notice that they are MIA. I miss a lot of birthdays and greeting new people but that is the nature of this form of communication.
So if you're gone I miss you. If your back welcome back. If it has been your birthday recently Happy Birthday whoever you are.

You handled it well and in such a way it won't cause any unnecessary friction between your wife and yourself.

A Shakespeare quote always come to mind when viewing something like this:
"A tale told by an idiot full of sound and fury signifying nothing".
I think crazy old Gangas Con fits that description.

I never got to that point. I think by the time I would have started feeling that way my mind was starting to crawl out of the cult. Maybe the longer someone is in the more they start to feel that way. Their expectations probably turn to bitterness when they see that after all those years of believing the Watchtower's dooms day tale they are still here and so are all the people Jehovah was supposed to have killed by now. The nice houses they see while out in service are still occupied by "worldly" people who are in all probablilty better off than they are for not heeding the many warnings these poor deluded souls have given them. In brief moments of sanity the thought that they have wasted their lives away may have crossed their mind. All they have left is their perverted hope of seeing their crazy god having a fun killing people and them being there to enjoy the show.
When your religion starts to make you think like that it is time to get out of it.

that's the amazon link (which is currently the most affordable, i believe, but it's also available for preorder at b&n, borders, indiebound, and indigo-chapters if you're in canada, if you prefer one of those retailers).. .

I'm really looking forward to it Brizzzy. I'm placing an order with Amazon in the next day or two and will order it then but I think you should remind us again when it gets closer to the release date. I also think you should let us know when it is available on the Kindle and the Nook.
I'm very glad you have come so far since leaving the Watchtower. I'm sure your book will inspire and give hope to others.

The secret things men hate about being men
by FlyingHighNow inthese are hastily thought up facts and then some stereo-typical reasons, in response to sam's why men seldom get depressed thread.
feel free to add ones that have been missed.. men:.
have to shave everyday or they look like miami vice wannabe's.. have to register for the draft.. have to keep up that macho image for their buds.. have to pretend to love beer.. to them, size is an important issue.
